Making Your Blogging More Effective

Blogging is a powerful way for businesses, associations, organizations, and associations to get their word out. Having your own Blog provides you a forum for distributing information, engaging readers in two-way conversations, establishing and promoting your brand, responding to questions in a controlled forum, and controlling conversations about you, your business, your organization, your association, your products, or your services.

Your Blog can be a place to clear up misunderstandings that are being spread across the Internet.

Building Your Following from Other Blogs...

There are two ways that you can use the Blogs of others to build your blog following. Comment on their site and leave your Blog address as part of your comment or use Trackbacks.

You should never leave a comment on someone else's Blog without providing a link to your Blog and your website. When you make a relevant comment or statement some of the readers will want to know more about what you have to say and you want to make it easy for them to listen to anything you have to say. Providing links makes it easy for them and ensures that they get back to you and not to someone else. It is important that you learn how to create links using HTML code so you put your information just a click away.

The second way to get the readers of one Blog to go to your Blog is through Trackbacks. Many of the Blog Services today allow you to create Trackbacks. What this allows is for you to respond to someone else's Blog on your Blog and then link your response to their Blog.

When someone is reading the original Blog, your comment will show as a link to your Blog. The result is that the reader will be taken to your Blog where they will see the answer but also have access to the other things you have written.

With either of these two methods, often times, if the original Blogger likes what you have to say they may establish a permanent link to your Blog for all of their readers to see.

The Power of Blogging Is in Syndication...

The idea with anything that you are doing is to syndicate your content to other places where you have a presence. Your Blog is one of those content areas that you want to spread. You can syndicate your Blog content to your website, to your Facebook Fan Page, to your LinkedIn Profile, and to other web locations.

Think of your material the same as Dr. Laura, Larry King, or other radio personalities. There show is syndicated across hundreds of radio stations. You want to do this same thing with your material.

The obvious advantage of syndication is that you create once and spread multiple times. The only thing that you possess that cannot be replaced is your time; so it is imperative that you use it wisely and when you can syndicate your information you across multiple sites you are using your time very wisely.

When You Find Related Blogs Consider Linking and Asking the Other Writer to Reciprocate...

An effective way to promote what you have to say and to extend your syndication process is to have reciprocal links with other Bloggers. While they are helping you to syndicate your material you are doing the same for them.

One of the best ways to UPPROACH that process is to be proactive and do it first. Do not send them an email asking them to do a cooperative process; do it first and let them know that you have linked to them to spread their content. In you email to them send your link and ask that they take a look and consider putting a link to your site on their site. Giving first creates value and demonstrates your sincerity.
